Advances in DNA methylation mechanism of antipsychotic-induced metabolic syndrome

Abstract: Schizophrenia patients are more likely to develop metabolic syndrome which is related to the interactions between gene and environment. Antipsychotic drugs, the main treatments, can change the DNA methylation level of related genes and then influence the efficacy and adverse effects of drugs. This article reviews the relationship between DNA methylation and schizophrenia with metabolic syndrome.
