Objective To observe the effect of position of occlusal disturbance on condyle track during protrusive movement. Methods Fifty volunteers were selected, and the condyle track along with the changing of occlusal disturbance position was recorded by Arcus DigMa three dimensional mandibular moving track analysis system. The relationship between occlusal disturbance position and condyle track on arrowy axis, vertical axis and horizontal axis was explored, and linear regression equations were established. Results Along with the retrusion of occlusal disturbance, the movement distance of contralateral condyle on vertical axis and horizontal axis tended to increase. The condyle track of both sides on horizontal axis during protrusive movement leaned to the ipsilateral side along with the retrusion of occlusal disturbance. The linear regression equation of contralateral condyle movement distance on arrowy axis along with the occlusal disturbance position was =6.9116+0.04207x1-0.03025x2 δ=0.08519 (P<0.001). The linear regression equation of contralateral condyle movement distance on vertical axis along with the occlusal disturbance position was =4.2050+0.04607x1 δ=0.03579 (P<0.001). Conclusion The position of occlusal disturbance may influence the condyle track during protrusive movement. The condyle track of both sides may lean to the ipsilateral side of occlusal disturbance, and the condyle track of contralateral side of occlusal disturbance exhibits linear characteristics.
