Journal of Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Medical Science), previously known as the Journal of Shanghai Second Medical University, is a comprehensive academic journal in medicine, pharmaceutics and health. Founded in 1958 and sponsored by Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the journal is issued on the 28th of each month. All articles published on the journal are open access and can be read and downloaded free of charge from this website.
Aim and Scope
The aim of the journal is to facilitate the development of science and technology, cultivate academic talents and enhance academic exchanges. The journal publishes cutting edge achievements, theories, technologies and experiences in the fields of basic medicine, clinical medicine and public health. The journal welcomes papers of the following types: original research article, review, special topic, expert forum, perspective, short essay, technology and methodology and case report. The target readers are professionals engaged in clinical medicine, basic medicine, public health, nursing studies, pharmacy and other related fields, such as clinicians, scientific researchers, education staff, medical students, etc.

Journal of Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Medical Science) adopts a double-blind peer review policy. About 80% of the manuscripts come from open submission and all manuscripts have been reviewed by two or more experts. The operating expenses of the journal mainly comes from sponsor’s grants, page charges and print subscription income. The journal doesn’t publish commercial advertisement.
