MicroRNA (miRNA) are a class of short noncoding RNAs, with 17-25 nucleotides in length, which play a role in the regulation of gene expression at posttranscriptional level. Recent studies have revealed that miRNA may be associated with pathogenesis, progression, invasion and metastasis of tumors. Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is a lethal cancer which is characterized by the absence of biomarkers for early diagnosis and effective strategies for therapeutic intervention. The current status of miRNA in diagnosis, treatment and prognosis evaluation for PDAC is introduced in this paper.
