Forum on Building First-Class Journal Held Online
• On 15th July 2021, online annual forum on “Building First-Class Journal – Academic Misconduct and Publishing Standard” was held jointly by Bio-medical Committee of Shanghai Society for Science and Technology Periodicals, Editorial office of Journal of Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Medical Science), Fudan University Journal of Medicine and the Young Committee of Shanghai Society for Science and Technology Periodicals. Over 1000 professionals attended the conference. The Executive Chief Editor from Geriatrics Research, Mr. HAN Lei made a report on challenges of covert academic misconduct. He shared cases on finding and processing plagiarism, figure falsification, ghost writing and improper authorship. The Editorial Office Director from Journal of Forensic Medicine, Mrs. YU Xiaotian gave a lecture on the interpretation and practice of the Recommendations for the Conduct, Reporting, Editing, and Publication of Scholarly Work in Medical Journals by ICMJE. She shared sharp insight on the recommendation about the responsibility of the authors, editors, reviewers and the publishing standard of retraction, misconduct, copyright, redundant publishing and clinical trials.
