Abstract:

Objective To investigate the relationship between clinical medicine undergraduates’ talent and scores of National Matriculation Test (NMT) based on the analysis of scores of NMT and medical courses in medical undergraduates. Methods Three hundred and fourteen clinical medicine undergraduates of Shanghai Second Medical University enrolled in Shanghai in 2003 were selected, and the scores of NMT and medical courses, including preparatory medical courses, basic medical courses and clinical courses were analysed by regression statistics method. Results There was no significant correlation between total NMT score and medical courses, while the scores of English and Chinese in NMT had a significant correlation with the scores of medical courses. Conclusion The total NMT score may have no significant impact on the scores of medical courses, while the scores of English and Chinese in NMT may influence the scores of medical courses to some extent.
