Abstract: The detection rate of childhood hypertension is on the rise all over the world and the damage of hypertension to heart has been paid enormous attention for its direct influence on prognosis. Echocardiography is routinely used to evaluate cardiac structure and function. On the basis of the traditional techniques, some new ultrasound imaging techniques have continuously applied in clinic in recent years and shown their respective advantages and values. This article reviewed the application and progress of echocardiography in cardiac assessment for hypertensive children.
